Kapton tape is an incredibly durable and adaptable insulating material, widely used in various industrial applications. As a trusted Kapton tapes manufacturer, we provide tapes known for their exceptional resistance to heat, electricity, and chemicals. Made from polyimide film, our Kapton tapes are designed to withstand harsh environments while delivering outstanding insulation. Ideal for high-performance applications, these tapes offer reliability and durability across industries.

Kapton Tapes

One-Side Aluminized Kapton

One-side aluminized Kapton combines the excellent properties of Kapton (polyimide film) with a reflective aluminium coating. It is commonly used in multi-layer insulation (MLI) blankets for cryogenic systems. These blankets are essential for maintaining stable temperature in space applications.

Key features:

Thermal insulation: The aluminized side reflects thermal radiation away from the spacecraft, preventing excessive heat loss or gain.

Spacecraft Protection: It shields sensitive components from extreme temperature variations, especially in cryogenic environments.

Material Composition:

Base Material: Kapton (polyimide film)

Aluminized coating: Add on the Kapton film on one side.

  Properties of one-side aluminized Kapton

Thermal conductivity: similar to regular Kapton, with aluminium coatings dominating conductivity at low temperature

Electrical resistivity: comparable to regular Kapton

Emissivity: Measured down to 10 kelvins.

Applications

Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) Blankets: Used in cryogenic systems to stabilize temperature.

Spacecraft components: Protect sensitive instruments from extreme temperature variations.

Double-Aluminized Kapton (DAK)

DAK is specifically designed for more demanding space environments, including deep space missions. It is optimized for extremely low temperatures (down to 20 kelvin or below), making it suitable for deep space applications.

Purpose

Radiation Reflection: DAK layers provide enhanced radiation reflection due to their double aluminized coating.

Spacecraft Shielding: They protect spacecraft from cosmic rays, solar radiation, and other space effects.

Material Composition:

Base Material: Kapton (polyimide film)

Double Aluminized coating: Applied to both sides of the Kapton film.

Properties of one-side aluminized Kapton

Thermal conductivity: similar to one-sided aluminized Kapton.

Electrical resistivity: comparable to one-sided aluminized Kapton

Emissivity: Measured down to 10 kelvins.

Applications

Satellite Instruments: Used in lightweight deployable shields.

Deep space missions: Ideal for spacecraft exploring distant celestial objects.
